I am now in Santa-Cruz Bolivia, we came back an hour ago from the southern

part of park Amborro where we were 3 days in a farm deep inside the park

with no electricity and water from a river - beautiful place

enormous mountains with so much green and water. We became a group of 8

Israelis - i find good people here.

my friends already know your name and many things about you (even your

birthday)     send dash to everybody.

              Hey hevre!

These past 3 days I've been in the most beautiful place-enormous mountains

with so much green. Walking along, crossing water, we had some serious

hikes. I have a little sore throat but everyone in the group we became (8

Israelis) take care of me.

I have some beautiful postcards but i have no time or will to send them

since everyday is a new place and new adventures and i don't know where to

start...

on Shabbat we were here in Santa-Cruz an English girl named Sarah & an

australian guy named Inia joined us for diner and then was the big surprise

the guys that were with us in the pantanal found us after going from one

hotel to another looking for us - we were so happy to see them!

then together we went to Samaipata ( a tiny town next to the city) and from

there to 'fuerte' an archeological site from the preinca time- it was a very

hard 'aliya' te view there was amazing!

we slept in samaipata cute place with a lovely plaza.

then amborro. we came back just now by hitch-hiking with a tender it was

funny 'cause after the 2 hours walk we did from 'volcanes' the farm we slept

in to the rode (it was also raining) we were filthy with mud. there is no

other way to this place. the donkeys carried our muchilas. it was so nice!

Shabbat i guess we'll be in 'bona-vista' and Shavuot in the north side of

'Amborro' park I wont have any way to communicate so- HAG SAMEACH LEKULAM!

on Shabbat we found out that there is a jewish community in Santa-Cruz

so we walked for an hour to the synagogue - we joined 2 bat-mitsvot.

it was funny to hear them bless israel and the holly community of

Santa-Cruz.

i envy you for being able to see or & my parents i miss them. and the guy

whose traveling with me is tired of hearing about my family (i don't mean the

metzumtzemet he has heard about you also)

things here are very interesting, on Thursday was the first time i nasati in

a cattle truck standing with 20 more people and a big cow- driving on a very

narrow trail on a pic of some mountains- its a very common way of getting to

places here. - oh, please if u tell my mom lehashmit the part of the

dangerous road.

im sitting now in a plaza - the main square of SUCRE one of the 2 capitals

of bolivia ( the other is la-paz) the buildings around the square are very

impressive with iturim each one is special in his unique way. the natural

area around the cities is beautiful pashut otzer neshima! i am trying to

record everything in my memory but it is impossible there is too much.

the travelers i meet are very nice there are SO many israelies!

its very easy to travel, no concerns, just meeting people, seeing places ...

getting laughed at for being gringo and not understanding casteiiano or

kechua (Indian language) watching small Bolivian people without teeth

chewing koka all the time & spitting everywhere with no shame ( just the

simple from the villages- but the majority. there are many scholars too)

anyway - magniv.

i am very proud of you!! good luck with the bagruyot.

p.s. its not as dangerous as people imagine in israel there is civilization

here as in everywhere else in the world, internet caffe every 2 meters. and

things here are very cheap. i wish i had a stronger back to carry all the

presents i want to buy.

occupied with trying to survive a terrible stomach ache and after wards the

most beautiful, hard, dangerous trek of my life!

good luck with the exams.

u remember u gave me an hakdasha on the pinkas that said ill go out to

the world and will find out i can get along by myself great? U know what -

with a lot of gods help and care ITS TRUE!

hey hamudi sheli how are u?

i just see your name on the screen and there comes a big smile-i miss u too.      I'm in cusco (Peru) right now, it's a beautiful city ,you´d love it - colorful with so many tourists from all over the world. Many nice cool Israelis. i went to the machu-picchu, ausangate (horse trek around an amazing snow covered chain of mountains , lagunot-5 days freezing nights) , snepling, tipus-tzukim, rafting 4 days was the best  AND i went with 4 chili an guys to a discothèque for the first time in my life- it was fun!

Dvir there is a change in plans, i think of staying in New York to work for 3 months till the season to travel in Chile, Argentina on January. It means half a year more in America -you´ll have to seend me pictures of Or all the time so i won't miss the changes.

i´ll try to buy a muchila in santiago and send yours back.

What's a Muchila? did you start showing off your Spanish?

 

Shiri, I think you should stay - I also told your mom that.

I think it's not the end of the world that you'll miss Omer's wedding.

we're not so rich that we can afford our selves to go to south America every year - it's a chance you must use.

If you're already there, and you don't hurry no where (the university will wait one year too - you're still young), so why no continue.

 

So - I say that you should continue this trip. I KNOW it is giving you so much - I'm sure it's changing you in a good way. You probably enjoy the freedom,  meeting  people from all over the world and so on..... It's great.

 

But I don't understand why go to the USA and then return - isn't it expansive? can't you find a place to travel through these 3 months? Anyway, Working in New York sounds like a great adventure too. One of my friends is working in OHIO.

 

Shiri - Just make sure you take care of your security - Sometimes after traveling for a few months you become SHAANAN - Don't trust people you don't really know, and don't walk around alone.

 

Anyway, I wish you good luck and hope you continue to enjoy !

 

I'm fine, still doing MOADEI BET at the university. My parents are at new york now.

Everything else is fine.

 

Or and I ate dinner at your family Friday night. You were missing SO MUCH ! You can't grasp the major role in your house in determining the atmosphere! When you're not there, everything is different.

Or the baby has grown ! She is such a HAPPY baby ! she's gonna be a MAKIT - she is so PAALTANIT !

  How are you, you brave child? I ADMIRE YOUR COURAGE. Its a hard decision you made, and you must be "amiza" to do such thing. I wish you to enjoy. just keep out to go safely, because we can give up for you for half a year, but it does not says that we are not worry for you.

   I thought we'll see you in new-York, maybe next time. We had a very nice trip. we were in Miami, Disney world, Washington, cross the country to the north to the Niagara falls,, Toronto, 1000 islands,Boston and new York. I loved new York very much. the noise, the lights ,so crowded, its the exact place for me.

 

   Its hard to be there and hear the news from Israel, and its unfair to see how relax are their life.

 

   I did not see OR since we came back, but Dvir said she's very sweet.

                                            Hola everyone

 

           I WAS FLYING TODAY!!!!!!! IT WAS SOOOOO GREAT! OVER THE BEAUTIFUL VALLY  OF HUARAZ SAROUNDED BY SNOWY MOUNTAINS  one of them is the huaskaran which is the highest in the area (the altitude of 6620m) went to do paragliding  with a crazy French guide named manolo that has  been doing it for 15 years. He was fantastic!  for the first time in my life i was actually flying like a bird! Seeing the mountains, houses & fields from above is absolutely amazing.

who ever got the chance should definitely go for it!

by the way i`m in huaraz, trekking, rock climbing, PARAGLIDING, hopefuly next week-ice climbing-  nature here is beautiful! from here the plan is lima, new-york & we`ll see...

It's 2:30 at night. We just got back from Omer's wedding which was very nice. I'll send you pictures of the wedding in the next few days. Or the baby was cute as ever and Or the guy danced like he didn't in a long time. Shirley looked great and they didn't stop dancing all night. And the most important thing - IT'S GOOD YOU HAD THE COURAGE TO CONTINUE YOUR TRIP - AT KELA - I'M PROUD OF YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!

What are your plans for the near future?

 

Did you cut your hair already (guess not ...)? maybe you'll make us a surprise and return with a stylish New Yorker hair design ! (not too punky so we'll still be able to recognize you ...).

I have 2 more exams left before I officially end the first year, and then I'll have some time off. In this month I plan to do many things like go to milluim, maybe take my grandparents to somewhere abroad and I plan to do some project to LEHANZIACH savta Dvora.

She was missing there today.

 

Is it your second time in New York? do you like it? my parents really liked it. I wonder when will I get there.

how was the fast? & rosh hashana? did you go to our house? how was it without me?

i passed the phase of dikaon after my arrival, at the beginning  i was very lonely - after being for more then 4 months with so many young people doing things together suddenly i was all alone with nothing to do.

Usually i'm at the Netaneli's house- they took me as their own daughter , i drive them crazy! it used to be a boys very religious house, till i came like a thunder storm  

on the first day there i washed & hanged my underwear outside - i thought they'll faint!  they are not used to having girls around- especially not like me-(that is a feminist one) aren't you proud of me?!
about N.Y.  i find my self  going around Manhattan with no excitement at all, having nothing to do! it's not the same when you're alone. i want to go out to clubs and such, but who with?  i don't have money to buy anymore clothes so...

anyway i hope i'll start working soon (have money to go to a musical in Broadway) and find some people to hang out with.      sharona was the best- going around with me taking me to a movie... did you see the new movie with anthony hopkins- hearts in atlantis - was strange but nice.

things are starting to look better don't worry- if you have any suggestions about what exciting thing i can do, tell me about it. in the u.s.a. car is hova.

I'll try to answer your questions ...

I didn't see that movie. it didn't arrive to Israel yet.

We did go to your house for Rosh Hashana and your absent was felt very very strongly as always.

The ZOM was OK ... A good  friend of spent it with me. it passed quickly enough.

 

About your stay in NYC - Despite what you wrote, it is New York, and it is an historic opportunity.

I agree that if you start to work somewhere it might solve 2 problems together - money and friends to hang out with. But even in the mean while, don't concentrate on the fact that you are alone. Sometimes you have the best fun alone. I agree you can't wonder around completely safe alone, but there are probably many things you can do. Don't you meet there Israelis in the same condition? I'm sure you'll get along just fine and you'll manage to make the best out of the time there. and even if not, it's not THE goal of your stay there. so take it easy.

I am proud of you.

Hello,

 

My name is Dvir  and Shiri Negari is my cousin.

I'm so sad to inform you that Shiri died today in a terror attack in Jerusalem.

We wanted to inform as much of her friends, so I'm using the addresses I found in her e-mails from South-America to send you this e-mail.

I hope this sad message finds you all well, and I know Shiri loved you all very much.
